I have a rather extensive history with cats, as I've lived with them ever since I was born. One of the two cats I have now is a faithful grey and white female that I've had for six years, the only one remaining from her litter of three. She may seem lazy, as she spends much of the daytime indoors, but she possesses an ability to run quite rapidly upon necessity and even to scurry up trees in order to obtain a position on top of our roof. Just the other day I was in the kitchen when I witnessed a great burst of motion in the tree outside the window followed by the cat scrambling up its thin trunk between all the offshoots of evergreen leaves, only to make her way down more slowly ten minutes later.
The biggest reason this seems a little surprising for my cat is because she's put on some weight in the last couple years and is not exactly the thinnest cat in the world anymore. We tried to ration her food a bit more sparingly but it was to no use. Nevertheless, she's happy and that's all we really care about.
This cat has several places she likes to lie down to take her 7-hour-long "catnaps", interrupted by an occasional trip to the food bowl (or sometimes the younger cat's food bowl, in which case I have to discipline her), and she often rotates from one place to the other, choosing one for a few weeks and then moving on without warning. There is no transitional phase, just one day she decides to claim a different spot and that's that. She may not go back to the other spot for the better part of a year.
Right now I'm privileged enough to say that the cat (aka. the household queen) has chosen my bed for her current resting spot. Today she was sprawled across my blanket, trying to drown out the sounds of my mom and I repeating Spanish phrases back to my computer, which was just to the left of her. At the beginning she ignored us and continued on with her nap, but as time went on she couldn't seem to keep her eyes closed and finally she turned and gave us a quite annoyed look, which I know all too well to mean "You're disrupting my beauty sleep". My mom wasn't paying attention although the look was directed at her; nonetheless, the cat held her position and didn't say a word.
After a while, the cat had no choice but to be fully awake. I occasionally put my head at her level and told her she was such a pretty cat, and she stared back at me with her curious green eyes with pupils the width of a needle due to the brightness of the sun. She was already getting slightly unnerved by my stroking her tail, which for some reason I was suddenly enthralled with. I kept protesting that she had a pretty tail but she would have none of it.
But all this was nothing compared to when I reached in and briefly stroked the pocket of fat she has sticking out just below her belly, covered with white fur. She reached forward and resolutely slammed her paw down, claws extended, right where my hand had been before. I began apologizing profusely but this was not enough to satisfy her. In her little mind, she had just gotten mad, and therefore she had to look for anything and everything in her path to take that anger out on. I saw the fury in her eyes and immediately saw the necessity to back away so she wouldn't pursue me as her victim. Being in a curled position meant that the first thing in her path was her own tail. She apparently saw the tail and was so mad that it dared to twitch in her presence that she reached even farther and clamped her unrelenting claw down right on top of it.
Whether she realized her mistake or not I don't know. But she was still not content and soon fell to unleashing her rage on the thin extensions around the edge of my blanket. Gripping the fabric in both her claws, she attacked it and bit into it as if it were a living creature which had just dared to insult her status as queen.
She continued to do this for a minute, but before long she was sitting up and bathing, then, seeming to have had enough of the situation (or perhaps wanting more food), she got up and left.
Life from the viewpoint of a young girl.

Merry Christmas 2013
Your special featured Christmas song, What a Glorious Night by Sidewalk Prophets! Such a beautiful song. I like listening to it with my headphones, in the dark, with the fiber-optic Christmas tree on my dresser glowing.
And for all my fellow cat lovers out there, Auntie M sent me this:
We gave our three spoiled kitties (Midnight, Juliet, Twilight) some new toys for Christmas. In the first 15 minutes, Twilight had already gotten her new white mouse toy stuck under a cabinet in our dining room. It's really hard to get under it when you want to fish out kitty toys, so we never really made a point to do it before. That kind of explains why when we went to fish out the mouse toy (Twilight was very desperate), we found not only the mouse, but a pink ball, a yellow ball, two bouncy balls of mine, a rock, an old bracelet that was Sardina's, a candy cane ornament, a Moravian star ornament, a wise man ornament, a green fish filled with catnip, a blue fish filled with catnip, and some kind of a magnolia seed pod stem from LAST Thanksgiving. So while I'm writing this, Mom is going around the house fishing out all the cat toys from under the other cabinets, including the refrigerator and oven. :P
As for me, I got a lava lamp for my room (YAY), a green and black TM outfit (scarf, hat, track suit, and white sneakers to write lyrics on), a new black dress coat, and more, and I still have the big family party to go to Sunday...

Song of the Week 10/22/13 and Kitty On My Knees Lyrics
(: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOBYMAC!!! :)
(I drew the party hat on ArtStudio. This was one of the only pictures of him in which he is not wearing a hat, so I figured that he needs one! And how fitting for his birthday! LOL)
In honor of TobyMac's birthday, here is the song of the week from his 2010 album Tonight:
This has to be one of my favorite TobyMac songs, maybe my favorite from that album. But you can't make me pick one single favorite TobyMac song. They're all so good!!!
Here are the lyrics:
City on our Knees
If you gotta start somewhere
Why not here?
If you gotta start sometime
Why not now?
If we gotta start somewhere
I say here
If we gotta start sometime
I say now
Why not here?
If you gotta start sometime
Why not now?
If we gotta start somewhere
I say here
If we gotta start sometime
I say now
Through the fog
There is hope in the distance
From cathedrals
To third world missions
Love will fall to the earth
Like a crashing wave
Tonight's the night
For the sinners and the saints
Two worlds collide
In a beautiful display
It's all love tonight
When we step across the line
We can sail across the sea
To a city with one king
A city on our knees
A city on our knees
If you gotta start somewhere
Why not here?
If you gotta start sometime
Why not now?
If we gotta start somewhere
I say here
If we gotta start sometime
I say now
Through the fog
There is hope in the distance
From cathedrals
To third world missions
Love will fall to the earth
Like a crashing wave
Tonight's the night
For the sinners and the saints
Two worlds collide
In a beautiful display
It's all love tonight
When we step across the line
We can sail across the sea
To a city with one king
A city on our knees
If you gotta start somewhere
Why not here?
If you gotta start sometime
Why not now?
If we gotta start somewhere
I say here
If we gotta start sometime
I say now
Through the fog
There is hope in the distance
From cathedrals
To third world missions
Love will fall to the earth
Like a crashing wave
Tonight's the night
For the sinners and the saints
Two worlds collide
In a beautiful display
It's all love tonight
When we step across the line
We can sail across the sea
To a city with one king
A city on our knees
A city on our knees
Tonight could last forever
We are one choice from together
Tonight could last forever
Tonight could last forever
We are one choice from together
Tonight could last forever
Oh, tonight could last forever
We are one choice from together
Family, we're family
Oh, tonight could last forever
We are one choice from together
You and me yeah you and me
Tonight's the night
For the sinners and the saints
Two worlds collide
In a glorious display
'Cause it's all love tonight
When we step across the line
We can sail across the sea
To a city with one king
A city on our knees
A city on our knees
A city on our knees
A city on our knees
If we gotta start somewhere
Why not here?
If we gotta start sometime
Why not now?
I'm always getting inspired by my cats, and here are the latest results:
Kitty On My Knees
If you gotta eat somewhere why not here?
If you gotta eat sometime why not now?
If you gotta eat somewhere I say here
If you gotta eat sometime I say now
Look around, there are treats in the distance
From moist Pounce treats to dry Temptations
And every treat is just one step away
Tonight's the night
For the kittens and the cats
And now we come
The thin ones and the fat
So just give us some treats tonight
Those treats smell so divine
Oh, human, can't you see
I'm a kitty with one dream
A kitty on my knees
A kitty on my knees
If we gotta have tuna why not here?
If we gotta have catnip why not now?
If we gotta have salmon I say here
If we gotta have turkey I say now
Look around, there are treats in the distance
From milk-flavored to beef and chicken, and
Seafood medley, so this is why I say
Tonight's the night
For the kittens and the cats
And now we come
The thin ones and the fat
So just give us some treats tonight
Those mix-ups smell divine
Oh, human, can't you see
I'm a kitty with one dream
A kitty on my knees
A kitty on my knees
Oh, we'll stand here forever
We are standing here together
We'll stand here forever
Oh
We'll stand here forever
Yes, we're standing here together
Waiting, waiting
Oh, we'll stand here forever
Yeah, we're waiting here together
For our treats
Yeah, for our treats
Tonight's the night
For the kittens and the cats
And now we come
The thin ones and the fat
So just give us some treats tonight
Oh, and make this night divine
Oh, human, can't you see
We're the kitties with one dream
The kitties on our knees
The kitties on our knees
A kitty on my knees
A kitty on my knees
If we gotta eat somewhere, why not here?
If we gotta eat sometime, why not now?
The treat flavors talked about in the song are all Temptations treat flavors. So, big thanks to them. Big thanks to my cats too. And the lyrics wouldn't be here anyway if it wasn't for TobyMac. And TobyMac wouldn't be here if it wasn't for God. Praise God!!! :) :) :)
So anyway, let me know what you think!!!
I'm so excited... on Friday I'm going to sleep over at my Aunt's house, and I think I'll get pretty much all day Friday and Saturday there too! One of my old friends I haven't seen in a while is coming too so we'll get to see each other again and play some. I usually take a movie up there for us to watch, but I can't think of a movie to take, so I'm taking all sorts of Webkinz concert stuff to make up for it. The lead singers from TobyMeow and Sunshine are going to be there, but I picked out a variety of other pets for the rest of the group, so it will be interesting to see how they all do together at the concert!
Also, I'm ordering TobyMac's Eye On It Deluxe Edition CD!!! I wanted to get the CD so I can take it to my friend's house (I don't take my iPad there), and I can burn it to the computer and put the songs on my iPad too. I can't wait...

TobyMeow Part 2
Juliet likes TobyMac so much she even has a headband to show it! LOL
Anyway, this is part 2 of the whole plethora of TobyMeow stuff, so if you haven't read part 1, I suggest you do that first.
I'd better take you on a tour of Sneaker's latest room on Webkinz. It's called "TobyMeow's Music Room." Everybody is there right now except for my Clydesdale, Charley, who is working on a pair of fall outdoor rooms...
Doesn't it look fun?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Here are a few closeups:
The dance floor...
The seating area...
...and a third area for making your own tunes!
Sneaker loves his new room and he thinks it's great to have everybody there.
Speaking of Sneaker, he turned 5 years (about 38 cat years) old on the 2nd. He invited everybody from the Wild Cats Club, everybody from the Wildcats band (those are NOT to be confused with each other), everybody from TobyMeow, and everybody from Sunshine. (That's a lot of musicians!)
First, everybody played Webkinz Twister.
Sneaker won!!!
Then, after everybody got some little snacks, they did a mini concert. (At least it was planned to be mini. I went to Awanas that night and when I came back they were still doing it.) Sunshine was up first, and they did Hold Me and one other song.
The Wildcats were next. They did Born To Be Wild, Middle Of Your Heart, and Promises.
After that, of course, was TobyMeow. They did Steal My Show, Lose Myself, and then Unstoppable with Juliet and Sardina. Everybody sure got into that one!
After a little cleanup (LOL), they did Favorite Song, and Zahra sang Jamie Grace's part.
Cake time!!!!!!
...and more little snacks.
After cake, everybody did Musical Chairs using TobyMac songs. We used Me Without You for the main part and Eye On It for the final FINAL FINAL round. Midnight won. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures, I just have a video of the final rounds.
After that, it was time for bed, so we had a huge sleepover.
Nobody wanted to get up in the morning, except for Zahra, who is definitely a morning pet. She got up at 7:00 and proceeded to get out the Sound Bites machine and wake everybody up. :P
Then we started doing Wildcats, TobyMeow, and Sunshine autographs. To this day, the Webkinz are still on my bed hanging out. Well, except for Sardina, who has places to go. Today is HER birthday.

Random News
Part 2 of my random news!
On the 24th we had a big party for the 4 Webkinz with birthdays in late August: Charley the Clydesdale, Choco the Mocha Pup, Ophelia the Splash Dragon (Mom's pet), and Sylvia the Silversoft Cat. There was a lake to swim in, a salon for those in need of a makeover, a ring toss, and a zipline. Also, there was a big dance floor and a concert by the Wildcats.
From left to right:
Juliet the Russian Blue/Charcoal Cat mix
(Really as a Webkinz she's just a charcoal cat, but she looks like a Russian Blue to me.)
Sardina the Siamese
Willie the Tuxedo Cat
Mayhem the Black Cat
Midnight the Black Cat (married to Mayhem)
Sneaker the Tiger
The Wildcats use their talents to do covers of some of my favorite songs, like Stray Cat Strut, What's New Pussycat, and a few Webkinz POTM songs. The girls (Juliet and Sardina) like singing Eye of the Tiger, Born to be Wild, and Magic Carpet Ride. The Wildcats also did multiple performances of their newest hit, Middle of Your Heart.
Here's everybody dancing:
